We live and work in Oatlands, so Weybridge is the one town where “can you come today?” is usually a yes rather than a maybe. Handyman work, garden maintenance and locksmithing from one number, with the price agreed before anything starts.
KT13 is a town of very different houses. Large plots and long boundaries up on St George’s Hill, Edwardian and interwar houses around Oatlands and the village, and newer flats down towards Brooklands and the station. The jobs that come out of those are not the same jobs, which is why we quote on what is actually in front of us rather than from a rate card.
What we get called out for
Flat-pack and wall fixings in the newer Brooklands flats, where half the walls are plasterboard and the other half are concrete, and the bracket you were sold rarely suits either. In the older Oatlands houses it is more often doors that have dropped, sash and casement windows that have stopped catching, and the list of small repairs that never quite reaches the top.
From £60Long boundary hedges — laurel, beech, leylandii — are the Weybridge staple, and on the bigger plots they are a day rather than an hour. We will cut them back once to get them under control, then come as often or as rarely as you want to keep them there. No contract either way.
From £60Multi-point mechanisms on UPVC and composite doors, which fail far more often than the lock itself does, and anti-snap cylinder upgrades on front doors. If you have just moved in, a key-alike set means the same key opens the front, back and side doors instead of carrying four.
